RETRO RUBBER CHALLENGE #150 WINTER WONDERLAND GUEST DESIGNER CARD!

I have the super-fun privilege of playing along with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog this week as Guest Designer!

Here is my card...

...inspired by the theme for the challenge below, Winter Wonderland!
Access the challenge page HERE

(I also created the following cards using this as inspiration, and you can check out all the details on how to make these in the following post Winter Wonderland Continued)

This whimsical card features images and words from two cute and classic sets by Stampin' Up! titled Snowy Play (2003) and Cold & Cuddly. These are both retired sets to my knowledge but don't worry if you fall in love with them like I did - I just checked and there are about 10 sets of each available on eBay currently (no affiliation to me).

SUPPLIES

STAMPS  snowman and dog - Stampin' Up! Snowy Play set, ice and words - Stampin' Up! Cold & Cuddly set
INKS  Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Oxide Faded Jeans, Stampin' Up! Going Gray, Versamark
MARKERS  Copic
OTHER Sakura white and glitter gel pens, Stickles Frosted Lace glitter glue, white detail embossing powder
CARDSTOCK  white, aqua, black

STEPS

1.  Cut aqua cardstock to fit standard size white cardfront.
2.  Trim scrap white rectangular cardstock with a wavy pattern on one edge as shown for snow drift.
3.  Using gray ink, stamp block of ice and motion lines from dog image on snowdrift panel. Fill in ice block surface with glitter glue.
4.  Stamp images on white scrap cardstock, color with markers, highlight with gel pens and fussy cut.
5.  To make background, ink blend Oxide ink onto aqua panel, drop water onto it in drops and blot with paper towel.  Allow to dry and highlight with white gel pen.
6.  Use markers to color one white cardstock scrap aqua, and on another white scrap draw diagonal lines in a plaid arrangement with blue markers used. Trim plaid end to a notch as shown.
7.  On a black cardstock scrap, stamp words in Versamark ink, heat emboss with white detail powder, and trim down to close rectangle strip.
8.  Time to assemble!  Layer aqua panel to white card front, and adhere snowdrift panel on top. Using foam tape, place dog and snowman as desired.  Use double sided tape to adhere colorful strips with word strip as shown.

Thank you so much as always for stopping by!  Nancy :o)

You certainly enjoyed the Winter Wonderland theme, Nancy by the looks of all these lovely cards! I do like the lovely splattery night sky you have made for your skating snowman. It's great to have you on board as Guest Designer for this challenge.

The whimsical images are definitely oldies but goodies, and I just love the little pooch! The sentiment is a great one too - one I've never seen. Your collection of cards is just lovely and I love the soft colors you used on each design. This challenge really inspired you to create and congrats on your GDT spot too! Well done!
