CITYSCAPE HEART

 hello!

Playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week.

UPDATE :o)

The background was made using my faux watercolor technique. I cut the heart from the background, and then used the background as the cardfront base. For the border on the white cardstock I used a Scor-Pal to add a raised line around each straight edge. This panel was then popped up on a scrap of foam.

sentiment stamp - Northwoods Rubber Stamps Cool Dot Wish You Were Here
heart die - Stampin' Up! Framelits Hearts #125599

SKETCH CHALLENGE x2

 hello!

I was thrilled to find this sweet little sketch challenge to play along with this week! Such a perfect layout for using up all sorts of leftover scrap card stock and DP. They mentioned using Stampin’ Up! products and I was happy to go for it, though I’m guessing most items are probably retired by now. But as we know in cardmaking world, substitutions are at worst a slight delay and at best a stroke of genius!

Paper Craft Crew

Image was colored in with colored pencils, mostly Prismacolor. I used a little striped blue & white cotton twine by Jillibean Soup, and some white enamel dots from Altenew. Flags and sentiment were fussycut.

SUNSHINE BEES

Hello :o)
 Playing along with:

I’ve known about the general importance of bees as pollinators, but in researching them to make sure they were a Spring-appropriate subject, this website showed me I had no idea how much there is to know:

I had a leftover piece of faux watercolor with smooshed Distress ink that worked perfectly as the base layer for this card. On the top layer I die cut the honeycomb twice and then stamped the leafy branch in two shades of green.  I blended green along one lower side, and blue at the top and opposite side. All items are foam mounted.  Wings of bees are covered in Stickles Frosted Lace glitter glue.  I glued the white honeycomb cell borders back in. Black word strip is from Creative Expressions.

SUPPLIES

bee stamps and dies, honeycomb stamp and die, honeycomb die - Stampin' Up! Honey Bee set
leafy branch stamp - PrintWorks Annette Allen Watkins Leaf Pattern

FLORAL HELLO

Joining in at the CAS on Friday challenge - Hello, and We Love Stamping challenge - FEMININE

This deep embossing folder works great but I was a little heavy on the pressure. Next time I will opt for a lighter cardstock or a spritz of water before running it through the machine.  I spritzed a bit of Avery Elle Shimmer Spray over the whole cardfront, which makes it glow nicely in natural sunlight.

SUPPLIES

floral embossing folder and corresponding stencils - Altenew Ballerina Magnolia set
words - same as above
shimmer spray - Avery Elle
enamel dots - BoBunny

CAT and MOUSE

 hello :o)

My card got a special mention!

This cat and mouse stamp is so old but so sweet. I think the Hello! and phrase on the bottom helps to indicate that no one will be harmed today :o) I used some Prima watercolors on the image panel, and some faux watercolor Distress smooshing on the green and white piece.

SUPPLIES

cat and mouse stamp - eat cake graphics

"Stay" phrase - Stampin' Up! (1998) unknown set

"Hello" word bubble stamp - Altenew Speech Bubbles
