A great way to use those background stamps - stamp twice in different colors and die cut a spotlight!

TECHNIQUES

ink direct to cardstock (stamped once in blue, then again in orange on a separate pice of card stock)

die cutting (used blue ink to stamp scalloped circle on orange panel, then used coordinating die to cut it out) 

foam mounting (joy panel)

die cutting (blessed - stacked a couple times)

fussy cutting (ornaments)

masking (ornaments so I'd have a white edge around the outline after ink blending)

(I used a mix of gold metallic watercolor paints on the metal ornament collars)

SEUSS-Y STYLE TREES

   Welcome to this 29 day series of Christmas cards for the 2021 holiday season - so glad you're here with me! Hope you get lots of inspiration and entertainment right up to Christmas day...

Love the glow of the matte silvery cardstock against the bright green trees. These cards are using up the scraps from the blue toned cards previously posted.  The silver cardstock started out as a long rectangle and the die cuts the zig zaggy trees so you end up with two slightly different tree borders - a positive image on the blue cards and a negative image shown here.

FAIR ISLE VIBE

Really pleased with the process and result on this card!

( I made a few other cards in this style a few weeks ago)

TECHNIQUES

ink direct to paper (Misti or other stamp positioner allows for repeated stamping to get drier inks saturated enough)

foam mounting and heat embossing (sentiment)

* I saw this technique demoed by Ruth at the YouTube channel artfulstampinwithruth in an older video a couple months ago and I was smitten!  The key is to find any image that are symmetrical (if stamped on a straight line both sides of an image look like mirror images). Literally any color combo will work as long as one is lighter and one is darker.
