wow, not sure what to say, it's been so long since I stamped or posted. Let's see - okay, I have always been so inspired by the Technique Junkie newsletters and the current issue featured Paper Peeling which looked like a good one to try as I got my feet wet with the whole stamping thing again. Which reminds me - a big thank you to those who urged me not to sell my entire stamp and supply collection when I felt like I would never make another card. So this is the first one in almost a year.

(card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
Stamps: words - Stampin' Up! (retired Great Greetings set), paper texture - unknown, dog - Rare Image Rubber Stamps
Tecnique: Technique Junkies PAPER PEELING April/May 2010
Embellishments: hemp cording, silver heart charm that reads love, actual newspaper print
Inks: Staz-On Timber Brown and Jet Black, Stampin' Up! Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa
Supplies: stipple brushes, paper edge distresser by Tim Holtz, Post-its
I stamped the dog once on white cardstock, and again on a Post-it. I trimmed the Post-it image, applied that over the original stamped image, and then sponged the background in. I trimmed the mouth area of the dog's face to accomodate the rolled up newspaper. The silver heart charm says Love on it and the 'paper' in his mouth is an actual ad for animal adoptions. I thought that combined with the 'good news' stamp would make a great way to announce a new dog adoption!
Hope you enjoyed, thanks for checking in :o)

Does this mean you've adopted a new pup?

How innovative! Welcome back, We have been waiting for you!
I adore this card. I volunteer at an animal shelter in Salt Lake City, and for months have been thinking that they need a line of cards to promote their programs and adoptables (thank yous, holidays, etc.) I never thought of a new dog announcement, but it's fabulous! I'm just starting to dip my toe in the stamping world (talk about a late comer) and if not for work like yours, I'd run away because I have zero talent in this area. But I can imitate! :) Thanks for showing us how.
