Drywall Stitching Flowers

These two cards feature a new technique from the current 04/09 Technique Junkie newsletter called Drywall Stitching - so fast and easy! The second card I made up quick after the first one using a scrap with a misplaced phrase.

Click on photo for detail... the colors didn't scan quite true on the cardfront - the reddish browns are all pinkish and the cs is a soft speckled green. The words were stamped in the same color as the "stitching".
Card measures 6" x 5 1/4"

STAMPS: I Brake For Stamps - distressed flower cluster from the Stampinback line, flower stem from a half plate of foliage, and phrase from an inspirational plate

INKS: Adirondack Pesto, Caramel, Currant and Raisin

SUPPLIES: assorted flower punches, circle punch, Magic Mesh, Tombow Mono Multi glue, Glue Dots, Tombow marker #757, sponge, sheer polka-dot ribbon, Pink Stickles and tissue paper

TECHNIQUE: Technique Junkies Drywall Stitching 04/09 newsletter

Card measures 4 1/2" x 6"

I just love this phrase, "Leave nothing to chance, and then leave everything to God". Kind of says do what you can on your end but have faith that God will work it out. The great balancing act! I have another stamp that reads "Pray to God but continue to row toward shore. ~ Russian Proverb" - I just love that! I'll try to remember to use that one with a cool boat stamp and post it here one of these days...

I just came across a corresponding verse in the Old Testament. When the Jews were rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem after returning after so many years of being in exile, right around 450 BC, some adversaries weren't happy about it and made no secret of it, and planned to attack. In Nehemiah 4:9 he says "But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat." All bases covered! LOL

I'm finding Nehemiah a fascinating man - as the commentary says "Provincial governors normally assessed the people in their provinces for their support. But Nehemiah, like Paul, sacricficed even what was normally his in order to serve as an example to the people." What a good pattern that would be for today's politicians, right?! ;o)
